When will I receive my glasses?
Please allow 10 working days' turnaround time for your glasses once you've placed your order. Generally we work faster than this, but if you have requested certain specialist coatings (such as photochromic lenses), your order may take slightly longer.
Do you deliver outside of the UK?
It is possible for us to deliver outside of the UK, however it may incur a small extra delivery charge to cover the cost of tracked shipping. Please get in touch with us and include your address; we'll let you know whether it will incur any extra charges or not BEFORE you place your order.
Do you offer Varifocals or Bifocals?
We do offer varifocals and bifocals, however you cannot order these via our website. These types of lenses require a much more precise fitting than standard single-vision lenses, so we can only supply these in our stores.
Can I try before I buy?
Unfortunately, we don't offer a 'Try Before You Buy' service online. However, we do have 8 stores throughout the West Midlands and Staffordshire, where you can try on over 500 frames, including store exclusives that you can't currently buy online.
Do you do eye tests?
Sorry, we are unable to carry out eye tests at Direct Specs. However, we do accept prescriptions from any optician, so once you've had your eyes tested you're welcome to visit us after to purchase your glasses at up to 70% off the typical High Street price.
I want to change my lenses, but keep my frames, can I do that?
This is called Reglazing, and due to the large variation in frame sizes and fitting methods, we unfortunately can't offer this service online. However, if you're able to pop into one of our branches, we'd be happy to look into it for you. For a standard pair of single-vision glasses, a reglaze would cost £25 per pair. For varifocals, £70 per pair. Please also note that due to frame materials becoming brittle and flawed over time, reglazing is to be carried out at the customer's own risk.
How do I make a complaint?
We're very sorry to hear you wish to make a complaint. Please send any complaints to firstname.lastname@example.org with details of the issue, which branch your complaint is regarding (if not ordering online) and a contact telephone number/email address if possible so that we can work with you to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
